The Flying Machine is a historical drama about the Wright Brothers. The story covers their famous first flight, as well as the innovation race that happened afterward. This culminates in a patent war against fellow aviation pioneer Glenn Curtiss. This story is a celebration of the early days of American aviation. It's a non-linear story told from different perspectives, part courtroom drama, part adventure.

I've always been fascinated with the Wright Brothers. I'll always remember the feeling I felt standing at the top of the hill and overlooking the site of their first flights in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The endless dunes, the wind, the Atlantic ocean. I tried to capture it all in a fun PG-13 screenplay with summer blockbuster potential.
